The safety of our patients and families has always been a top priority for our practice. We have always exceeded all infection control mandates by the American Dental Association (ADA), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners. We diligently follow the guidelines set by these governing agencies.
Because of the presence of COVID-19, additional guidelines have been instituted that we are committed to following just diligently. The safety of our patients, families and team members is our top priority. As a result, there will be some changes at your next visit to our office, including additional sterilization and disinfection above and beyond what we normally do.
As you can imagine, there have been additional guidelines instituted due to COVID-19. The safety of our families and our team members is our priority. As a result, there will be some changes at your next visit to our office including additional sterilization and disinfection above and beyond what we normally do.
We want to inform you of the changes you will see:
- Our office staff will communicate with you at least a day before your appointment to ask a series of screening questions. These questions are regarding your child’s health, as well as the health of your family. We are also required to be compliant with travel guidelines for the State of Nevada, CDC and ADA.
- If any patients or family members feel ill or have a temperature >100.4°F, please let us know so we may reschedule your appointment. We are unable to allow sick patients into our office.
- Upon arrival to our office, you will be greeted at the front door for screening. You will be asked the same questions you were asked during your pre-screen phone call and have both your temperature and your child’s temperature taken. We ask that you use hand sanitizer before entering our building.
- Per CDC guidelines, we will be practicing social distancing. These guidelines recommend that a parent stay in the car during the child’s appointment; however, those of you who wish to remain with your child can do so, as long as social distancing protocols are maintained. As part of the social distancing protocol, only one family member may enter the building with the patient.
- Our staff will be wearing additional face coverings, such as a face shield.
- Face coverings are required for all patients and family members entering our building. Our patients (over age two) must wear a face covering except for the time they receive treatment. Family members must wear face coverings the entire time they are in our building. Please note: We do not provide face coverings. You must provide your own.
- We follow strict infection control standards, but you will now see additional cleaning of all surfaces in the office throughout the day.
- To minimize the time in our office, we have been advised by the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners to have financial arrangements completed prior to your appointment.
We understand some of these changes might seem cumbersome and extensive. Please know: not only are we following our governing agency guidelines, we are ensuring the safety of our patients, families and staff. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding and look forward to seeing you.
